Parents and Teachers Across America Unite

Parents and teachers across America are uniting against Common Core.  Common core is partly education without representation, but it is also social engineering.   If you care about your child/children, and what goes into your child's/children's mind take a half hour to view the movie.     Here is a movie called Building the Machine at http://commoncoremovie.com/

Taxation is Theft

At the town hall meeting it was reported the town had difficulty collecting property taxes.  With such an enormous jump in property taxes of the previous year is it surprising?  I think not.

Taxation is theft plain and simply.  "If we assume that the individual has an indisputable right to life, we must concede that he has a similar right to the enjoyment of the products of his labor. This we call a property right. The absolute right to property follows from the original right to life because one without the other is meaningless; the means to life must be identified with life itself.  If the State has a prior right to the products of one's labor, his right to existence is qualified" To read more go to https://mises.org/etexts/taxrob.asp you will have to cut and paste the link.

If public education is so great why is it compulsory?

Parents Stand up To Bullies

Today, Croydon held its School Choice meeting hopefully your family took the time to attend.  If you did not attend contact a school board member or one of the choice opportunities for more information.

Parents must be vigilant and protect the choice that was voted in by Croydon taxpayers.  There will always be bullies that will want to eliminate school choice as they do in other communities.

"Get ready for the bullies. U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder sued to stop school choice in New Orleans, arguing that it was getting in the way of the federal government’s 1975 court-ordered desegregation plan. When parents protested that they wanted to be the ones choosing their kids’ schools, not the Department of Justice, Holder’s lawyers told the court that parents lacked the standing to make their views known.
If anyone has standing in their child’s education, it’s parents. And parents in New Orleans said that racial balance was less important to them than being able to choose a school that educates their child. Ultimately, Holder had to give up." Read more about this story at Boston Herald.com.

“Our goal is to have a system in which every family in the U.S. will be able to choose for itself the school to which its children go.  We are far from that ultimate result.  If we had that — a system of free choice — we would also have a system of competition, innovation, which would change the character of education.” - Milton Friedman

Is Your Child's Math Class Becoming a Class in Social Justice?

Math should be about math, not social justice.   Social justice is a bastardized form of equal justice.  Our Founders believed in equal justice with life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all.   Social justice is a way of leveling the playing field at the point of a gun.

When Should Children Start School

Starting school early can be damaging students, countries that start students later in schooling often out perform American students in comparison studies.  Croydon voters were correct in rejecting full-day kindergarten.  We should take it one step further and eliminate kindergarten all together.  Kindergarten has socialist origins.

“Children learn what they live. Put kids in a class and they will live out their lives in an invisible cage, isolated from their chance at community; interrupt kids with bells and horns all the time and they will learn that nothing is important or worth finishing; ridicule them and they will retreat from human association; shame them and they will find a hundred ways to get even. The habits taught in large-scale organizations are deadly.” - John Taylor Gatto

Parents are Responsible for their Children's Education

After eleven years of fighting against excessive taxes and fighting for education reform,  I have found Jim and I are often misquoted in the press.   The Valley News misquoted me, yet again.  The only time I said kids was when I was quoting the person who said kids.  I rarely if ever refer to children or my children as kids.  The only other time you will hear me use the word kids is if I am referring to baby goats or if I am repeating the platitude, "It's for the kids."  I also put an s at the end of the community because without it, it totally changes the meaning of what I said.

I asked some of my friend's, "Ultimately who is responsible for a child's education?"  Unlike town hall meeting where my reply of parents got a chuckle and a snide remark from the moderator of, "I guess we don't need schools," my friends overwhelming replied, "parents".   In fact fourteen replied "parents," three jokingly replied with varying answers.   The fact that it got a chuckle makes me feel really sad for some of the children of Croydon and some of those in Croydon.

Parents are ultimately responsible for the education of their children. The public school system aka government school system aka socialized education system as it is now was not meant to educate children.  It is scary how few know that.  The current system is meant to school children not educate them, achieve a progressive utopia, and to destroy the Republic.  I would say public schools are successful in that manner, but not educating children.
