Okay here is my last election piece. It appeared on Town Hall.com. Please Vote. Good luck to Sununu and McCain/Palin. I know all signs point to an Obama win but I say it ain't over until the fat lady sings. I think McCain/Palin will pull it off. That means tomorrow I will either be right or wrong, but I am willing to put my neck on the line.

It’s down to the wire. Is there anything left to be said? Any argument that will persuade those still waffling, or change the minds of those still inclined to vote for Obama? I think so. So I’ll offer one last observation of my own. And here it is: Obama supporters point with dewy-eyed admiration to his years as a “community organizer” as proof of his readiness to lead. What they overlook is the fact that a commitment to ideological stealth (read “deception”), a philosophy of class and race envy, a deeply-held resentment of those who have been successful, a disdain for the foundational documents of the nation, a messianic sense of personal superiority, and a willingness to attack those who disagree with you through use of the political machine -- may seem like valiance when done by a struggling underdog. But those same attitudes, inclinations and tactics take on a very different aspect when the person with them is the most powerful human being on the planet.
Now I’m going to let Obama speak for himself in this rest of this article. Despite the monolithic efforts of our Pravda press to bury, suppress, deny and cover up for Barack Obama and his anti-business, anti-life, anti-white, and anti-American sentiments, laudable efforts of the few principled journalists we have left in this country have unearthed speeches and interviews with the Anointed One that make the case against the possibility of his presidency far better than any pundit or columnist could.
So why take our word for it, when you can listen to what Barack Obama himself has said? In these last few hours before you vote, as you contemplate what you are looking for in the leader of the free world, here are just a few of Obama’s Greatest Hits for you to ponder:
The President takes an oath to “preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution. “
But Obama says: “The Constitution is a flawed document.”
The President appoints U.S. Supreme Court justices, who serve for life once confirmed by the U.S. Senate.
But Obama’s view of the Supreme Court: “[It] never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth … It didn’t break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the founding fathers in the Constitution.”
The reason Justice is represented in American with scales and a blindfold is because judges are supposed to dispense justice without regard to who is before them.
But here’s Obama’s view of “blind” justice: “We need somebody who's got the heart, the empathy, to recognize what it's like to be a young teenage mom, the empathy to understand what it's like to be poor or African-American or gay or disabled or old--and that's the criterion by which I'll be selecting my judges.”
The President’s energy policy should benefit users and providers of energy.
So let’s listen to Obama’s views of energy policy: “[U]nder my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket.” And “If somebody wants to build a coal power plant they can, it's just that it will bankrupt them because they are going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted.”
The President should extol the American promises of protection of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Here’s Obama’s view of the value of human life: “That’s above my pay grade.”
The American economic system rewarding individual initiative has created more prosperity for more people than any other system in human history. We now know that higher taxes crush new business and business growth, and reduce jobs.
Obama’s (now infamous) view of taxation? “Spread the wealth.”
And perhaps less well-known, in an interview with ABC News, anchor Charlie Gibson asked, “[I]n each instance, when the rate dropped, revenues from the tax increased; the government took in more money. And in the 1980s, when the tax was increased to 28 percent, the revenues went down. So why raise it at all, especially given the fact that 100 million people in this country own stock and would be affected? “
Here’s what Obama says: “Well, Charlie, what I've said is that I would look at raising the capital gains tax for purposes of fairness.”
And what about Obama’s view of the First Amendment? Threats of criminal libel prosecutions, Justice Department intimidation, and no promise to veto the “Fairness Doctrine” if his compatriots in Congress pass it.
The President’s most significant responsibility is the safety of the American people.
So what is Obama’s view of Iran, a country currently building nuclear reactors? “Iran … [is] tiny … [it doesn’t] pose a serious threat to us. Iran, they spend 1/100th of what we spend on the military. If Iran ever tried to pose a serious threat to us, they wouldn't stand a chance.”
Last, but not least, my personal favorite. A quote not from Barack Obama, but his wife, Michelle, when asked about her husband running for President.
Michelle Obama’s views about her husband running for President? “It’s way too soon. He hasn’t done anything yet.”
I couldn’t have said it better myself. Now if we could just keep it that way.

Reasons number 4598 and 4599 not to send your children to public schools.
Diversity - Baloney they don't want diversity, especially when it comes to thought. I am sure the school didn't want to upset the Pagans and Wiccans in the class.
Eighth-Grade Boy Sent Home From School for Jesus Christ Halloween Costume
Saturday , November 01, 2008
PARAMUS, N.J. —
Dressing up as Jesus Christ for Halloween turned out to be a problem for a northern New Jersey boy.
Alex Woinski, an eighth-grader at West Brook Middle School in Paramus, was sent home from school on Friday because of his costume.
Alex, who has shoulder-length brown hair, wore a white robe, a red sash, sandals, a fake beard and a crown of thorns.
His mother says Alex was told he could keep the costume on if he removed the beard and crown of thorns, but he declined.
Superintendent James Montesano says the district doesn't want students wearing costumes that could be distracting.
Alex's mother is Catholic, and his father is Jewish.
He recently celebrated his Bar Mitzvah and is studying Bible scripture, according to his mom.
Diversity in this case is fine for kindergartners.
School Clams Up on 'Gay' Pledge Cards Given to Kindergartners
Saturday , November 01, 2008
By Michelle Maskaly
A California school system refuses to say what action, if any, it will take after it received complaints about a kindergarten teacher who encouraged her students to sign "pledge cards" in support of gays.
During a celebration of National Ally Week, Tara Miller, a teacher at the Faith Ringgold School of Arts and Science in Hayward, Calif., passed out cards produced by the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network to her class of kindergartners.
The cards asked signers to be "an ally" and to pledge to "not use anti-LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) language or slurs; intervene, when I feel I can, in situations where others are using anti-LGBT language or harassing other students and actively support safer schools efforts."
The school has acknowledged that the exercise was not appropriate for kindergartners.
Parent Adela Voelker, who declined to be interviewed in depth for this report, said she was furious when she found her child's signature on one of the cards. She said she contacted a non-profit legal defense organization specializing in parents' rights.
Meanwhile, a school board member, Jeff Cook, says some type of action should be taken.
"We have a general rule that all instruction should be age appropriate, and this clearly was not," said Cook, who has served on the school board for five years.
Val Joyner, a school district spokeswoman, told FOXNews.com in an e-mail that when deciding what to teach on this subject matter, educators "gather materials from community agencies and other education groups" and that "the materials have grade level indicators which help determine what is age-appropriate."
The district said the pledge cards were intended for middle school and high school students.
Asked last week if the district planned to take action against Miller, Joyner said she would have to look into the incident. On Thursday she told FOXNews.com that she did not have an answer for the question and that she would no longer be doing any media interviews.
Joyner said in an e-mail that Miller, the teacher, "planned to teach students how to become an ally and conflict-mediation through various activities." She added that the district doesn't advocate for a specific cause and/or lifestyle, and it has "no curriculum for gay, lesbian and transgender lifestyles."
The district employs a "Professional Learning Specialist: Equity," who is in charge of gathering material and helping teachers decide what should be taught on the subject matter.
Brad Dacus, president of Pacific Justice Institute, the group representing Voelker, said parents at the Faith Ringgold School weren't notified of what was going to take place in the classroom.
He said that teaching students as young as pre-school about gay, lesbian and transgender issues is common in California, but that there are "all kinds of material the average parent could find highly objectionable or potentially harmful" to their children.
When asked if the school district did anything wrong, he said, "possibly," but he declined to go into detail or say whether Voelker would sue the district.
Dacus would not comment specifically on whether children who signed the pledge could be held responsible if the school determined that they were not honoring it. He said they are minors and there are certain degrees of limited liability, but from a psychological and emotional perspective, it's a whole different ballgame.
"[There is] tremendous peer pressure put on children to accept a pro-homosexual philosophy and attitude," Dacus said.
Meanwhile, opponents of gay marriage are up in arms over the incident, which occurred as California voters prepare to vote Tuesday on Proposition 8, which would overturn the state Supreme Court's ruling legalizing gay marriage.
"How do you teach a 5-year-old to sign a pledge card for lesbian, gay and transgender issues without explaining what transgender and bisexual is?" asked Sonja Eddings Brown, a spokeswoman for Protect Marriage California.
Here is the image of the cards the children had to sign.

Folks lets focus on reading, writing and arithmetic because you have not mastered teaching those skills yet.

Questionable Endorsement Letter - From Virginia Irwin
Last week we received a letter from Virginia Irwin. I suspect many others received this letter, though we didn't know this at the time.
As Cathy and I have been quite active in education matters, our thoughts were "Is this an action plan to address the AYP failures at Newport" or "Perhaps progress on controlling special-ed spending" or "Thoughts on the SAU 43 Area Agreement"? Maybe even "The Obama poster has been removed"?
Nope.
While one could expect a letter from a public official explaining how she might serve us, this letter explained how we were to serve the wishes of a public official. That is, Virginia Irwin asked us to support Bob Odell in his November 4th reelection bid.
Typically conservative voters, Cathy and I have decided not to vote for Bob Odell for many of the same reasons Irwin asks voters to support him. Most notably, Odell's support for an amendment introducing an education responsibility into our constitution smacks of government power expansion at the expense of local control. We consider his position destructive towards the goal of quality education.
But that is beside the point. Supporter or not, a persuasive endorsement requires some form of political capital on the issues at hand.
Newport Middle High School is now in its sixth year of failing to make AYP and is in its third year of failure in Literacy. Being "in the business" for a certain number of years does not an expert make. A true leader, a true education expert, would have turned this around years ago. There is no excuse for Newport's present condition.
If education is important to your decisions on November 4th, please use your own judgement as to whether Bob Odell or any other candidate has the qualities that enhance the education system in Newport. What we're doing now clearly isn't working.

Funny of the Day....
well two funnies of the day.

Hat Tip to Lennie of the Sam Adams Alliance for the second funny of the day. Heck lets not call it a funny lets call it a plan for your next meal out.
On my way to lunch recently, I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read "Vote Obama; I need the money." I laughed. In a restaurant my server had on an "Obama 08″ tie. Again I laughed. Just imagine the coincidence. When the bill came, I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Barack-Obama-redistribution-of-wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need―the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight. I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as I've decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful. At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment, I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn even though the actual recipient deserved money more. I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application.
After reading this, I think we should all put this into action. Every time you go out to a restaurant from now until the election, ask your server who they are supporting (after you are done with your meal). If they are supporting Obama tell them you are happy to hear that and you are glad they are so compassionate towards the less fortunate. Then tell then you are going to donate their tip to the next homeless person you see in their name so they can start redistributing the wealth even before the election. Not only will you affect their opinion, they will tell every other server in that restaurant. If they don't like this redistribution of their wealth, then tell ask them to reconsider their vote for Obama. Remember, you many want to avoid that restaurant for a while after this personal object lesson.
P.S. Happy Birthday Joanne Marfechuk

Don't Be Selfish, Give Up Your Pensions For Social Security
Don't Be Selfish, Give Up Your Pensions For Social Security
I just read a piece where Obama states not wanting to pay higher taxes is selfish. That is a bunch of B.S. He is using this line to try to persuade voters to pay higher taxes. My Great, great, great, great, great, great, great...Uncle Sam Adams would be spinning in his grave if he heard that piece of propaganda.
When Obama speaks of middle class I think he speaks of union employees and government employees including teachers. These are the groups he wants to grow and protect. These groups represent blatant socialism at its best and they are the foot soldiers of the democratic party. By tipping the balance of these groups to 51% Republicans and Independents would eventually be run out of office and the democrats would hold the house, senate and the presidency until there was another revolt by the American citizens.
If Obama wins he will at some point bailout the government pensions from the city to the federal level. This pension tsunami will make the most recent bailout look like it was paid with a piggy bank.
There are numerous reports that shatter the myth that teachers and other public employees are underpaid or paid less than private employees. But their propaganda often works because many taxpayers just do not do their homework. Taxpayers fall for propaganda lines like "it's for the kids", "crime will increase because we don't have enough police", "we will lose our jobs", "there will be chaos everywhere." P-lease! These lines are all about selfishness on the part of a bunch of overpaid lazy workers that have so much time off they are often able to "work" more than one job and gain a second and even a third public pension.
Unions and government employees should stop being selfish and immediately turn over all pensions funds to social security and instead receive social security benefits from here on out. To not do so is selfish. Surely you can live off 27,876 a year assuming you are getting maximum S. S. benefits. Surely you do not need that 75,000, 150,000 or even 300,000 dollar a year pension you government/taxpayer paid hacks*.
Come on all you union and government employees, do it for the good of America. Solve the social security problem while at the same time helping to balance all levels of government budgets.
In An Unselfish World...
Breaking news: Tomorrow union and government employees will do the following to help balance city, state and federal budgets nationwide.
1. Paid holidays decreased from 12 to 7 days a year.
2. Paid vacation limited to three weeks a year with no carryover.
3. All government employees pay 50% of insurance premiums.
4. Sick pay limited to 5 days a year with no carry over.
5. Elimination of tenure for teachers and elimination guaranteed job security for all civil service jobs to weed out dead weight employees.
6. Elimination of nepotism within all levels of public sector jobs.
7. Schools required to be open 250 days a year as opposed to 180 days a year.
8. All government employees required to work until 67. No more double dipping on pensions because all employees receive social security.
Headline down the road; Budgets balanced at all levels of the government, productivity up among government employees, educational results finally no longer flat. Americans prosper by paying less taxes.

Argh...the more I read I just can not understand why people support Barack Obama.
Okay, I am officially obsessed with this election. I am a news/political junkie and I think my husband is going to conduct an intervention soon. Yes I have hi-jacked our Citizens for Reasonable And Fair Taxes website as my own pulpit as of late. But I maintain it is Obama's stance on taxes that allows me to do so as we are Citizens for Reasonable And Fair Taxes.
I know some people who are supporting Obama some people I can have a discussion about the issues some people I can not. I read articles on the left, articles on the right and articles in the middle about the election. The past two days I heard an Obama ad on the radio that I thought was very persuasive at attracting the New Hampshire voter assuming that New Hampshire voter was limited in his/her presidential research. In fact it made Obama sound like he was raised with middle America beliefs and believed in hard work like so many Americans, but this just is not true. I just could not believe the audacity and pandering of the ad.
With all of the following how can anyone vote for this man? The only conclusion I can come up with is they are just ignorant to the extent of this man's beliefs, connections, bias of the MSM and the corruption surrounding his campaign.
I would really like to hear from Obama supporters how they rationalize the following they appear in no particular order. All questions are accompanied sources from left, right and middle.
The truth about taxes, fact checks on taxes
Why the mortgage crisis really happened.
Can you trust a man who lies even before the presidential candidates were declared? Obama's flip on public campaign financing.
What will happen to your privacy under Obama? Dare to be a women who is not a democrat and get your email hacked. Dare to be someone like Joe the Plumber asking a legitimate questions to Obama and get your privacy violated by state employees.
How do you turn a blind eye to Acorn? The right to vote is sacred in my book. Are you okay with a man whose followers steal elections?
The main stream media is in the tank for Obama and Would the Last Honest Reporter Please Turn On the Lights?
Okay I am a proud American and frankly I do think there are Americans who are not proud to be called an American.
Is Barack even a citizen? Someone bought this up at the Sarah Palin rally. Frankly I brushed it off but enough people bought it up I felt the need to investigate the matter further.
How Obama feels about your right to bear arms.
Doesn't it bother you that Obama is a Marxist? Maybe schools have been successful at pushing their agenda and people and indeed do not care that he is a Marxist. "How do you tell a Communist? Well, it's someone who reads Marx and Lenin. And how do you tell an anti-Communist? It's someone who understands Marx and Lenin." Ronald Reagan
Charity starts at home. Charity starts at home. Will he take care of Americans as well as he takes care of family?
The Fairness Doctrine will be reinstated under Obama this will eliminate much of the right bloggers and conservative talk show hosts. "Fairness Doctrine’ Is A Code Name For “Censorship"
Finally for Catholics out there, heck for human beings in general how do you rationalize Barack Obama and his stance on Born Alive Infants Protection Program.
I could continue on forever but I will leave it here and step off my soap box. If in spite of all this someone still votes for Obama they are doing it fully educated but I will never understand why.
My mother and father taught me there is no shame in working hard no matter the job. I can take care of myself and my family. I will be supporting McCain and Palin as they share my values. No thank you Obama I do not need a handout. Those who have worked hard for their money should keep it and give through charity if they want to share their wealth.
Cathy

A perfect storm and why a Obama presidency would be Catastrophic

I am a huge fan of Thomas Sowell. The following article can be found in a number of places.
Cathy
A perfect storm
By Thomas Sowell
Some elections are routine, some are important and some are historic. If Senator John McCain wins this election, it will probably go down in history as routine. But if Senator Barack Obama wins, it is more likely to be historic— and catastrophic.
Once the election is over, the glittering generalities of rhetoric and style will mean nothing. Everything will depend on performance in facing huge challenges, domestic and foreign.
Performance is where Barack Obama has nothing to show for his political career, either in Illinois or in Washington.
Policies that he proposes under the banner of "change" are almost all policies that have been tried repeatedly in other countries— and failed repeatedly in other countries.
Politicians telling businesses how to operate? That's been tried in countries around the world, especially during the second half of the 20th century. It has failed so often and so badly that even socialist and communist governments were freeing up their markets by the end of the century.
The economies of China and India began their take-off into high rates of growth when they got rid of precisely the kinds of policies that Obama is advocating for the United States under the magic mantra of "change."
Putting restrictions on international trade in order to save jobs at home? That was tried here with the Hawley-Smoot tariff during the Great Depression.
Unemployment was 9 percent when that tariff was passed to save jobs, but unemployment went up instead of down, and reached 25 percent before the decade was over.
Higher taxes to "spread the well around," as Obama puts it? The idea of redistributing wealth has turned into the reality of redistributing poverty, in countries where wealth has fled and the production of new wealth has been stifled by a lack of incentives.
Economic disasters, however, may pale by comparison with the catastrophe of Iran with nuclear weapons. Glib rhetoric about Iran being "a small country," as Obama called it, will be a bitter irony for Americans who will have to live in the shadow of a nuclear threat that cannot be deterred, as that of the Soviet Union could be, by the threat of a nuclear counter-attack.
Suicidal fanatics cannot be deterred. If they are willing to die and we are not, then we are at their mercy— and they have no mercy. Moreover, once they get nuclear weapons, that is a situation which cannot be reversed, either in this generation or in generations to come.
Is this the legacy we wish to leave our children and grandchildren, by voting on the basis of style and symbolism, rather than substance?
If Barack Obama thinks that such a catastrophe can be avoided by sitting down and talking with the leaders of Iran, then he is repeating a fallacy that helped bring on World War II.
In a nuclear age, one country does not have to send troops to occupy another country in order to conquer it. A country is conquered if another country can dictate who rules it, as the Mongols once did with Russia, and as Osama bin Laden tried to do when he threatened retaliation against places in the United States that voted for George W. Bush. But he didn't have nuclear weapons to back up that threat— yet.
America has never been a conquered country, so it may be very hard for most Americans even to conceive what that can mean. After France was conquered in 1940, it was reduced to turning over some of its own innocent citizens to the Nazis to kill, just because those citizens were Jewish.
Do you think our leaders wouldn't do that? Not even if the alternative was to see New York and Los Angeles go up in mushroom clouds? If I were Jewish, I wouldn't bet my life on that.
What the Middle East fanatics want is not just our resources or even our lives, but our humiliation first, in whatever sadistic ways they can think of. Their lust for humiliation has already been repeatedly demonstrated in their videotaped beheadings that find such an eager market in the Middle East.
None of this can be prevented by glib talk, but only by character, courage and decisive actions— none of which Barack Obama has ever demonstrated.
